Grant Hinkson is a Senior Experience Developer within Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business. In his first year at Microsoft, he delivered the app and games marketplace and hardware/software integration experiences in the Zune client for Windows Phone 7. Grant is a member of the Experience Development team, a group of design-focused UI developers with a shared goal of empowering design through rapid prototyping, technical insight, and pixel-perfect implementation.
Within IEB Design, he has led the development of a number of productivity enhancing tools, utilities and workflows to streamline both production and prototyping pipelines. He is passionate about design, usability, and technology and is rewarded by working with a team of people who share similar passions. Prior to joining Microsoft, Grant was recognized as a Microsoft Expression MVP, was a contributing author on the Wrox Silverlight 1.0, Silverlight 2 Programmerâ€™s Reference and Professional Silverlight 4 books, and was lead author of the Friends of Ed book Foundation Fireworks CS4. Grant has a number of articles on Adobe DevNet and has spoken at Microsoft MIX (2011 and 2009), Adobe MAX, Microsoft ReMIX, DevScovery (New York and Redmond). He has authored a number of utilities for the designer/developer community, including the Fireworks to XAML Exporter and Pistachio, a WPF Resource Visualizer. When not coding or designing, Grant enjoys playing both the piano and organ.
